Quezon City, Philippines—To make its services more accessible to the public, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) today said it will conduct off-site operations in various key areas.

LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante said that the program, dubbed as E-Patrol Operations/Outreach Program, aims to reach out to as many clients as possible.

“We are bringing our services closer to our clients for their comfort, convenience and so that they need not deal with unauthorized individuals or 'fixers',” Galvante emphasized.

Galvante encourages the public and private companies to avail of this opportunity and to not wait for the deadline to avoid fines.

The LTO Chief added that the Agency will conduct the outreach program in key government facilities as well as in private companies and associations with fleet motor vehicles. Initially, this will be done within Metro Manila where the bulk of LTO clients come from.

For his part, LTO-National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Director Atty. Clarence Guinto said his office has already coordinated with two (2) government agencies where the E-Patrol Operations will be conducted. Coordination is also being made with the Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines, bus operators, corporations such as Globe Telecom and the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), and other private companies with fleet of motor vehicles.

“We have partnered with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Supreme Court of the Philippines (SC) for the program. The LTO-NCR will set up shop at the PNP Training Service in Camp Crame, Quezon City from February 9 to 10, 2018. We will also be at the Supreme Court of the Philippines along Taft Avenue in Manila from February 22 to 23, 2018,” Atty. Guinto announced.

The LTO-NCR Regional Director said dedicated technical support personnel will man the sites to provide the following services, namely: 1) Issuance of Student Permits for individuals 17 years old and above; 2) Renewal of Driver’s License; 3) Printing of driver’s license with a 5-year validity period for those with original Official Receipt (OR) issued by LTO-NCR offices; and 4) Renewal of Registration of Motor Vehicles with Certificate of Emission Compliance (CEC).
